Modern

This class offers elements of traditional modern dance with other current modern dance styles. Specifically, Jill integrates principles from the Limon Technique, contact improvisation, developmental movement, ballet, and The Alexander Technique, all which emphasize letting go of muscle tension and the natural release of weight. The class starts with warm up exercises and is followed by dance combinations. The student will learn how to minimize his or her use of unnecessary muscular effort so that natural balance and alignment can serve as a basis for moving.

Ballet

This class follows the familiar structure of a ballet class. It offers traditional ballet technique with an emphasis on minimizing muscular effort while carrying out the exercises. Students are encouraged to find their full range of motion by relying on natural balance and alignment, core strength, and the ease and fluidity associated with ballet.
